About WanderwegNord

WanderwegNord was started in 2020 by a pair of avid hikers who noticed that most German hiking content focused on the Alps and the Black Forest. Northern Germany, with its moors, marshes, forests, coastal paths, and gentle hills, was chronically underrepresented — despite offering hundreds of beautiful and well-maintained trails.

We are a small, independent team with no ties to tourism organizations, outdoor gear brands, or trail management bodies. We hike every route we review, photograph the trailheads and waymarks ourselves, and give honest assessments of difficulty, navigation, and overall experience.

Our goal is to get more people walking in Northern Germany. Whether you are a seasoned long-distance hiker looking for your next multi-day route or a family searching for an easy Sunday loop through the woods, our trail guides are written to give you confidence on the path.
